How do I configure the WAG54GP2 to the engin network?

Overview


Step 1: Updating the firmware

Before you start you must have frimware version 1.00.03 installed.

Step 2: Accessing the Linksys WAG54GP2
  1. Login to the WAG54GP2 using 192.168.1.1 via your web browser
  2. Enter the username: admin and password admin
  3. Go to the Voice menu
Step 3: Accessing the Advanced Settings
  1. Go to the SIP tab
  2. Under the SDP Payload section, change the G729a Codec name to G729 (i.e. remove the a).



Step 4  :Setting up a Time Server

You can configure the Linksys WAG54GP2 to automatically retrieve the current date and time (Including daylight savings). To do this you will need to enter in a NTP server.






  1. Go to the System tab and add the following NTP server
  2. You can use the following DNS:  202.61.12.230,   202.61.13.102
  3. Enter Primary NTP Server: au.pool.ntp.org
Step 5 :Setting up Daylight savings




For NSW these settings will work:
  1. Time Zone: GMT+11:00
  2. Daylight Saving Time Rule: start=3/-1/7/3;end=10/-1/7/2;save=-1

Step 6 :Proxy and Registration – LINE 1




  1. Go to LINE 1 and add the following authentication information.
  2. Enter your user data as per the image below

  • Proxy: byo.engin.com.au
  • Use Outbound Proxy: Yes
  • Outbound Proxy: mel or syd.byo.engin.com.au
  • Register Expires: 900
  • Display Name: Your Name
  • User ID: Your engin phone number
  • Password: your engin password (within the summary page)
  • Use Auth ID: Yes
  • AUTH ID: Your engin phone number.
  • Supported codec’s: g729a & g711a

Step 7 :Audio Configuration


Next, change the Audio Configuration heading.
  1. The following change is required.
  2. Preferred Codec: G711a.


Step 8 : Dial Plans

(Copy and paste the following dial plan at the bottom of the LINE 1 page)

Description
*xx = special *number dial
13[1-9]xxx = dial pizza numbers etc
1[38]00xxxxxx = 1300 and 1800 numbers
190xxxxxxx! = Disable 1900 numbers (remove ! to enable)
000S0= Fire/Police/Ambulance
0011 = International
[2-9]xxxxxxx = any local number
0[2-9]xxxxxxxx = any interstate numbers
