How do I setup my SPA-3000 using engin as my VSP?

Overview
Step 1: Access the Sipura ATA
Step 2: Update the firmware
Step 3: Change the SDP payload
Step 4: Change Regional Settings
Step 5: Setup Daylight Saving
Step 6: Setup Static IP
Step 7: Proxy and Registration.
Step 8: Dial Plans
Step 9: PSTN settings

Step 1: Accessing the Sipura ATA
  1. Connect your phone into the PHONE port of your Sipura ATA.
  2. Dial **** then 110#, the SPA will announce the current IP address
  3. Once you have the IP address of your SPA-3000 you can access the web interface by opening a web browser and typing the following in the Address: http:/ /< IP Address of SPA-3000> For example: http://192.168.1.10
  4. Enter the username: user and your SIP password
  5. You should now see the Sipura SPA-3000 Phone Adapter Configuration screen.
  1. Click on Admin Login on the right hand side, then click on Advanced. You can also go directly to the admin/advanced section by typing: http://192.168.1.10/admin/advanced
  2. Enter the username: admin and your SIP password
Step 2:  Update the firmware

Make sure you update the firmware from Firmware Update

Step 3:  SIP Settings.
  1. The SIP tab as a number of advanced settings that control how the SPA initiates telephone calls with other hardware (and software). There is one setting on the SPA3000 that you should change.
  2. Under the SDP Payload section, change the G729a Codec name to G729 (ie remove the a).

Step 4: Regional Settings

The following changes are optional, however they will make your SPA-3000 sound more Australian. Under the Call Progress Tones and Distinctive Ring Patterns headings change:

Dial tone: 400@-19,425@-19,450@-19;10(*/0/1+2+3)

Note, you may like to keep the default US sounding dial tone. The benefit of leaving it is that it sounds different to your PSTN dial tone. It is therefore easy to tell if you are dialling out via VoIP or PSTN.

If you want to leave the USA dial tone, then the settings should stay as Dial tone: 350@-19,440@-19;10(*/0/1+2)

The following change is required under the Miscellaneous heading. This will reduce the echo.
FXS Port Impedance: 220+820||115nF

Step 5: Setting up a Time Server and Daylight Saving Rules
  1. You can configure the SPA-3000 to automatically retrieve the current date and time (Including daylight savings).
  2. To do this you will need to enter in a NTP server.

Primary NTP Server:
au.pool.ntp.org

Step 6: Setting up a static IP. (System Tab)

Important: If you are configuring a static IP for your Sipura SPA-3000, you must have DNS configured via your SPA otherwise your unit will not register.

The above static IP is an example. Please don’t use the example.

Daylight savings parameters

For NSW these settings will work:
