How do I configure the Netgear DG834GV to the engin network?

Note:  for some reason Mozilla Firefox works better when saving your VoIP configuration page.

Step 1: Accessing your Netgear DG834GV
  1. Open a browser such as Mozilla Firefox
  2. Connect to the broadband voice adapter by typing http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of your browser, and then click Enter.
  3. When prompted, enter admin for the router user name and password for the router password in lower case letters.
Step 2: Configuring your SIP settings
  1. Go to the VoIP settings Page by clicking 192.168.0.1/setup.cgi
  2. Or copy and paste http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?next_file=voice/set_voip.htm into your web browser.
  3. Enter the username: admin, and password: password if necessary
  4. Enter SIP proxy: byo.engin.com.au
  5. For the SIP control port enter: 5060
  6. For the SIP local control port enter: 5060
  7. Outbound proxy: syd.byo.engin.com.au
  8. For the Outbound Proxy port enter: 5060
  9. Enter RTP start port as: 16384
  10. You can disable VAD for better quality calls (silent suppression)


Step 3: Configuring your engin Account
  1. Enter your Display Name.
  2. Telephone number: Your engin number - 0280048321
  3. Username: Your engin number  - 0280048321
  4. The password field will require your engin SIP password (not account password)
  5. For the register expires field, enter 900
  6. or the register head start field, enter 843
  7. For the codec field, you can select G711a or G729ab (you can select 10ms, 20ms, or 30ms packet size)
  8. Click apply to save your changes
  9. Re-login to the VoIP page and click Register
