How do I unlock my Netgear DG834GV?

Step 1: Do a complete factory reset
Step 2: Login to the Netgear DG834GV
Step 3: Check VoIP status page
Step 4: Upgrade your firmware to 1.02.37_u with the encryption key password


Step 1: Complete Factory Reset
  1. You will need to have unlocked firmware 1.02.37_u downloaded and your encryption key password before you do read further. Go to this URL to download 1.02.37_u
  2. Do a complete factory reset and disconnect your DSL line from the DG834GV
Step 2: Login to your DG834GV
  1. Open up your web browser.
  2. Log in to the router at its default LAN address of http://192.168.0.1 with its default User Name of admin, default password of password, or using whatever User Name, Password and LAN address you have chosen for the DG834GV.
Step 3: Check VoIP status Page
  1. Go to VoIP status
  2. Ensure Hook state is "ON" with no other information showing.
Step 4: Upload firmware
  1. Go to http://192.168.0.1/voice/upgrade.htm
  2. Enter the username  admin and your encryption key password
  3. Find 1.02.37_u.bin which you have downloaded already.
  4. Upload the .bin file into your DG834GV
  5. Once you have updated you can then upload firmware 1.02.39_u
