Netgear TA612v 5 minute dropout solution

Overview

Note: The Netgear TA612V implementation of the NAT Dependent Filter in the Router may cause the following issues. This fixed has been used by permission from thevoipstore.net. See: http://www.thevoipstore.net/Netgear-TA612V.php for full credits and video guide.

Symptoms:
1) When someone dials you DID (VoIP phone number) your Phone does not ring.
2) Your calls are disconnected after 5 minutes and 32 seconds
3) One way Audio - either party can not hear the other one
Step 1: Login to your Netgear TA612V
  1. Open up your web browser.
  2. Log in to the router at its default LAN address of http://192.168.61.1
  3. Login with username of admin, default password of password.
Step 2: Setup SIP ports
  1. Go to Advanced > Port Forwarding
  2. Enter Service:  SIP
  3. Enter Port Start:  5060
  4. Enter Port End:  5060
  5. Enter IP: 192.168.61.254
  6. Click Apply
Step 3: Setup SIP ports
  1. Enter Service:  RTP
  2. Enter Port Start:  10000
  3. Enter Port End:  10100
  4. Enter IP: 192.168.61.254
  5. Click Apply
