I have an engin voicebox series 1 or 2, how do I setup a static IP and configure port forwarding via an Open I-connect (621-624)?

Overview


Please note you will need to enter the * key to define the periods in the IP address ie: 10*0*0*10 = 10.0.0.10. Make sure to hang up between each part of this step. After picking up the phone, dial **** to re-enter the config menu.

Step 1: Assign the static IP
  1. Dial ****, once you hear the voice, dial 101# followed by 0# 1  - Hang up.
  2. Dial **** once you hear the voice, dial 111#, then 192*168*1*10# 1 - Hang up.
  3. Dial **** once you hear the voice, dial 121#, then 255*255*255*0# 1    - Hang up.
  4. Dial **** once you hear the voice, dial 131#, then 192*168*1*254# 1   -Hang up.  
Step 2: To check that you have implemented this correctly
  1. Dial **** 100 # to listen to the state of DHCP (voice should say ‘disabled’)
  2. Dial **** 110 # to listen to your IP address (should say 192.168.1.10)
  3. Dial **** 120 # to listen to your Subnet Mask (should say 255.255.255.0)
  4. Dial **** 130 # to listen to your Default Gateway (should say 192.168.1.254)
Step 3: Login to your Open hardware
  1. First login by going to your web browser and typing http://192.168.1.254
  2. enter the username: root, password 0P3N
Step 4: Setup Port Forwarding
  1. Go to the Advanced
  2. Go to Port Forwarding
Step 5: Setup a custom rule for engin
  1. Go to the User Tab
  2. Click the New Tab

Step 6: Add engin as a rule
  1. The Rule Management interface will appear
  2. Enter the Rule name as " engin"
  3. Enter Protocol "UDP"
  4. Enter Port Start  "5060"
  5. Enter Port End" "5060"
  6. Enter Port Map "5060"

Step 7: Setup RTP ports under the same rule
  1. You can enter enter ports 16384-20384 under the same name as " engin"  Repeat the same process of RTP ports.
  2. Enter Protocol "UDP"
  3. Enter Port Start  "16384"
  4. Enter Port End" "20384"
  5. Enter Port Map "16384"

Step 8: Setup Your LAN client (the engin voicebox IP)
  1. Select the LAN connection. In almost all cases this will be the default LAN group 1
  2. Enter the engin voicebox IP as 192.168.1.10
  3. Click Apply
Step 9: Configure LAN client for the engin port forwarding rule
  1. Go back to the "User" PF menu option
  2. Select the rule name "engin"
  3. Ensure the rule is configured to the IP address of 192.168.1.10
  4. Click Apply
  5. Save all changes
