How do I setup and connect my SPA-3102?

Overview


Scenario 1: SPA-3102 connected into a Dynalink RTA1025W.

Installation overview showing the Engin SPA3102 plugged into a modem/router:
  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102
  2. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102 ; connect the other end to your phone line (or phone line filter).
  3. Connect one end of the supplied ethernet cable to the INTERNET port of your Engin SPA3102 ; connect the other end to a spare ETHERNET port (LAN port) on your modem/router.
  4. Connect one end of the included power adapter to the Engin SPA3102 then connect the other end to an available power outlet.


Scenario 2: Single port ADSL modem with SPA-3102 setup as a router

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your
  2. Engin SPA3102.
  3. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to your phone line (or phone line filter).
  4. Locate the ethernet cable that is connecting your modem and PC together. Unplug this ethernet cable from your modem and connect it to the ETHERNET port of your Engin SPA3102 (ensure your PC remains connected to the other end).
  5. Using the supplied ethernet cable, connect one end to the INTERNET port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to the ethernet port on your modem.
  6. Connect one end of the included power adaptor to the Engin SPA3102 then connect the other end to an available power outlet.


Scenario 3: USB Setup

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to your phone line (or phone line filter).
  3. Connect the PC by USB cable
  4. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of the ADSL modem


Scenario 4: Switch Setup

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to your phone line (or phone line filter).
  3. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the switch
  4. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of the switch


Scenario 5: Eliminating Double NAT

  2. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to your phone line (or phone line filter).
  3. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the switch
  4. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of the switch


Scenario 6: Cable Setup

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect one end of the supplied phone cable to the LINE port of your Engin SPA3102; connect the other end to your wall socket
  3. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the LAN port of the SPA-3102
  4. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of the Motorola Modem
  5. switchoff the cable modem by disconnecting the power then reconnect


Scenario 7: Cable Setup with SPA-3102 connected to router

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the LAN port of the router
  3. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of router
  4. Connect landline cable to the SPA-3102 if needed


Scenario 8: SPA-3102 connected to Netcomm 3G USB router

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the LAN port of the 3G USB router
  3. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the WAN port of the 3G USB router
  4. Connect landline cable to the SPA-3102 if needed


Scenario 9: SPA-3102 connected to Navini Unwired Modem

  1. Connect a phone (with existing phone cable) to the PHONE port of your Engin SPA3102.
  2. Connect the PC by ethernet cable into the LAN port of the SPA-3102
  3. Connect from internet port [blue port] of SPA-3102 to the LAN port of the Navini Wireless Modem
  4. Connect landline cable to the SPA-3102 if needed.
