Overview
You can revert back to the older
firmware
if you are experiencing issues with the
firmware
.
Go to
Siemens Firmware
's to revert if necessary.
Step 1: Login to your speedstream modem
- Download the VoIP friendly speedstream firmware
from here: Firmware
Update
- This firmware
will give you access to telnet and unblock UDP port 5060. It will not change anything else.
- Save the file on your desktop
- Run the .exe file
- The following dialog box will appear
- Click on the update firmware
Step 2: Unblock the windows
firewall
application
- The application will search for the device
- Allow the application to run if you have a software firewall
.
Step 3: Update the
firmware
- The update will be successful
- Click OK.
Step 4: Re-login to your Speedstream 4200 modem
- Login to your speedstream 4200 via http://10.0.0.138
- Enter the username: admin, and password admin
- To reconfigure your internet connection, just enter your PPPoA username and password to connect to the internet.
Step 5: Activating ADSL2+ (if you have it)
- Click the Start button, then select Run.
- Type: telnet 10.0.0.138 then select OK
- (Where 10.0.0.138 is the I.P. address of your router, 10.0.0.138 is usually the default)
- Enter the username: admin and password: admin
- Type cfg dsl{mode=ds2p
- Check if ADSL2+ has been enabled, by typing: cfg dsl{mode
- Type exit
Step 6: If all else fails
- You can revert back to the older firmware
if you are experiencing issues with ADSL2+ speeds.
- Go to Telstra ADSL2+ Original Firmware
Update (Login as a Guest to download the firmware
)
- Follow the instructions from (Step 1 to Step 3) to reconfigure your ADSL2+ connection to Telstra using PPPoA.
