How do I setup my SPA-3000 using engin as my VSP? (Simplified Version)

Overview

This is a simple setup guide for newbies.

Step 1: Accessing the Sipura ATA
  1. Connect your phone into the PHONE port of your Sipura ATA .
  2. Dial **** then 110#, the SPA will announce the current IP address
  3. Once you have the IP address of your SPA-3000 you can access the web interface by opening a web browser and typing the following in the Address: http:/ /< IP Address of SPA-3000> For example: http://192.168.1.10
  4. Enter the username: user and and your SIP password
  5. You should now see the Sipura SPA-3000 Phone Adapter Configuration screen.
  6. Click on the admin login ink

  1. Enter the username: admin and your SIP password
  2. Click on the advanced Link
Step 2: Proxy and Registration
  1. Go to the LINE 1 tab
  2. Go to the Proxy and Authentication Heading

 

Enter the below user data into the fields above
  • Proxy: byo.engin.com.au
  • Outbound Proxy: syd.byo.engin.com.au
  • Use Outbound Proxy: Yes
  • Use OB proxy in dialog: Yes
  • Register Expires: 900
  • Use DNS Srv: Yes
  • Use DNS Srv Auto Prefix: Yes
  • Display Name: Your Name
  • User ID: Your engin phone number. For example 0280040000
  • Password: your engin SIP password. This is 8 characters in length. For example: uwSqe721
  • Use Auth ID: Yes
  • AUTH ID: Your engin phone number.
  • Supported codec ’s: G729a & G711a
Step 3: Audio Configuration
  1. The next thing that needs to be altered is under the Audio Configuration heading.
  2. The following change is required.
  3. Select Preferred Codec : G729a.
  4. You can change the codec to G711a and disable silent suppression to make your service sound more like the PSTN (Telstra or Optus)
Step 4: Dial Plans

(copy and paste the following dial plan at the bottom section of the LINE 1 page)
(*xx|13[1-9]xxxS0|1[38]00xxxxxxS0|190xxxxxxx!|000S0<:@gw0>|<#,:>xx.<:@gw0>|0011xxxxx.|[2-9]xxxxxxxS0|0[2-9]xxxxxxxxS0)

Description
*xx = special *number dial
13[1-9]xxx = dial pizza numbers etc
1[38]00xxxxxx = 1300 and 1800 numbers
190xxxxxxx! = Disable 1900 numbers (remove ! to enable)
000<:@gw0> = Fire/Police/Ambulance
0011 = International
[2-9]xxxxxxx = any local number
0[2-9]xxxxxxxx = any interstate numbers
 <#,:>xx.<:@gw0> = Press the # key to dial out the PSTN
