Overview
Step 1: Login to your Open 62x modem/router
- First login by going to your web browser and typing http://192.168.1.254
- Enter the username: root, password 0P3N
- Go to Advanced > IP QoS
- Choose a connection from the drop down menu. The default is "LAN
Group 1"
- Select a percentage for the low priority weight drop down list (40% is a good value)
- Select a percentage for the medium priority weight drop down list (60% is a good value)
- Tick "Enable QoS"
- Click Add
Step 3: Setup QoS rule for SIP
- Enter Rule Name "SIP"
- Enter source IP (This is your engin device's IP address
i.e. 192.168.1.110)
- Select UDP as the protocol
- Select Traffic Priority " High"
- Add Source start port " 5060"
- Add Source end port " 5061"
- Select the Physical port your VoIP device is connected to i.e: " PORT 4"
- Select Maximise throughput
- Click Apply
Step 4: Setup QoS rule for RTP
- Enter Rule Name "RTP
"
- Enter source IP (This is your engin device's IP address
i.e. 192.168.1.110)
- Select UDP as the protocol
- Select Traffic Priority " High"
- Add Source start port " 16384"
- Add Source end port " 23084"
- Select the Physical port your VoIP device is connected to i.e: " PORT 4"
- Select Maximise throughput
- Click Apply
Step 5: Confirm QoS Rules
- Go to Advanced > IP QoS
- Confirm the IP QoS Rules have been entered correctly
Step 6: Check if QoS is enabled
- Go to Setup > LAN configuration
- Click Configure > Ethernet
- Check that the IP QoS light is green
- Go to Tools
- Click Save All
- Click Reboot
