How do I setup QoS for the Open Networks 62x series modem /router?

Overview

Step 1: Login to your Open 62x modem/router
  1. First login by going to your web browser and typing http://192.168.1.254
  2. Enter the username: root, password 0P3N
Step 2: The QoS Menu
  1. Go to Advanced > IP QoS
  2. Choose a connection from the drop down menu. The default is "LAN Group 1"
  3. Select a percentage for the low priority weight drop down list (40% is a good value)
  4. Select a percentage for the medium priority weight drop down list (60% is a good value)
  5. Tick "Enable QoS"
  6. Click Add
Step 3: Setup QoS rule for SIP
  1. Enter Rule Name "SIP"
  2. Enter source IP (This is your engin device's IP address i.e. 192.168.1.110)
  3. Select UDP as the protocol
  4. Select Traffic Priority " High"
  5. Add Source start port " 5060"
  6. Add Source end port " 5061"
  7. Select the Physical port your VoIP device is connected to i.e: " PORT 4"
  8. Select Maximise throughput
  9. Click Apply
Step 4: Setup QoS rule for RTP
  1. Enter Rule Name "RTP "
  2. Enter source IP (This is your engin device's IP address i.e. 192.168.1.110)
  3. Select UDP as the protocol
  4. Select Traffic Priority " High"
  5. Add Source start port " 16384"
  6. Add Source end port " 23084"
  7. Select the Physical port your VoIP device is connected to i.e: " PORT 4"
  8. Select Maximise throughput
  9. Click Apply
Step 5: Confirm QoS Rules
  1. Go to Advanced > IP QoS
  2. Confirm the IP QoS Rules have been entered correctly
Step 6: Check if QoS is enabled
  1. Go to Setup > LAN configuration
  2. Click Configure > Ethernet
  3. Check that the IP QoS light is green
Step 7: Save and reboot
  1. Go to Tools
  2. Click Save All
  3. Click Reboot
