How do I unbind my Speedtouch 585 modem for VoIP?

  1. Click the Start button, then select Run.
  2. Type: telnet 192.168.1.254 then select OK
  3. (Where 192.168.1.254 is the I.P. address of your router, 192.168.1.254 is usually the default)
  4. It will come to a username and password.
  5. For username enter: Administrator and for password just press enter: (no password)
  6. Type: connection unbind application=SIP port =5060 [enter]
  7. Type: saveall[enter]
  8. Type: system reboot [enter]
  9. Once the cursor goes to the next line, please take note of your Speed touch modem/router. The three lights will start flashing. This may take up to a minute.
  10. Check for the American dial tone by picking up your telephone receiver.
