I have an SBG900, how do I configure a static IP and port forward the SIP (UDP 5060) to my engin 121?
Overview
Step 1: Login to your SBG900 to find the engin 121 IP
- Login to your SBG900 192.168.0.1
- Enter the username: admin, and password: motorola
- Check your attached devices or your DHCP table to verify if the engin 121 phone is connected
- You should see a MAC address of 00:30:0A with host name " " connected to your router or modem.
- Make a note of the IP address , and enter this value into your web browser
Step 2: Login to your engin 121
- If this doesn't work, connect the 121 directly to your PC with an Ethernet cable from the ‘Ethernet’ socket on the back of the 121 and enter 10.0.0.99 into your web browser
- Enter the username: admin, and password: engin to access the engin 121 phone
Step 3: Changing the
WAN
IP address
- When you have logged in, go to the BASIC menu
- Go to the WAN menu
- Disable Bridge
- Enable IGMP
- Change IP address to 192.168.0.10
- Change subnet to 255.255.255.0
- Change gateway
to 192.168.0.1
- Disable DHCP Client
- Go to the NAT menu
- Disable NAT
- Disable DNS Proxy
- Disable Auto Discovery
- Enable User Configuration
- For DNS Proxy, enter the 192.168.0.1
- Save and reboot your settings.
Step 6: Access the Motorola SBG900
- Type your Router IP Address
(preceded by http://) in the address bar of the browser, as shown below. Note: The Router IP Address
of your router is shown on the left side of this instruction screen. If you don't know it, you can try the default gateway
IP is which is 192.168.0.1
- You should see a pop-up style box prompting you for your username and password.
- Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is motorola. Click the Log In button to log in to your router.
Step 7: Configure Port Forwarding
- Now click the Gateway
button near the left side of the page.
- The menu near the top will now change. In this new menu, click Port Forwarding.
- Click the config button near the top of the page.
Step 8: Enter SIP ports
- We will now need to add the ports needed for the engin 121.
- The engin 121 requires you to forward ports 5060. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Add New Port Forwarding Entry menu and then click Add.
- The second rule is needed for UDP protocol and the entries to be made are as below:

- Name: engin
- Port Start: 5060
- Port End: 5060
- Lan
IP Address
: 192.168.0.10
- Enable: Checked
- Save and reboot your settings
